An extract from Ven. Namdag’s blessing:
“We bless this dragon boat and all who use or see it. May the joys and pleasure which
they bring be treasured by all. As it glides through the water may it bless the water
and all the animals in the water and may those who use it respect the water for its life
giving qualities. We ask all who are here to protect the environment so that, we and
the animals, can not only survive but thrive.”

One of the ancient Hawaiians prayers used in christening canoes and boats refers to the days when huge logs were dragged from the forest to the shore to fashion the great sea-going canoes: "Yesterday you were a tree of the forest," the chant says. Then it proclaims, "Today, you are a man of the sea!"

Blessing new homes is important because it sets up an individualised vibration pattern for the house that rings true with your families hopes and dreams for the future and creates healthy positive energy in the house.

House Blessings can be used for a variety of purposes including moving into a new home. It is refreshing to cleanse the energy occasionally and renew the flow of positive energy around your house. Smudge and burning herbs purify the area as used in Native American Ceremony in preparing for Inipi or Pipe ceremonies. I can create a sacred space for you or simply clean up any negative energy left behind.

As your celebrant, I will design a house blessing that is true to who you are. We discuss ideas to establish the appropriate ceremonies and rituals. For an older house, it is sometimes helpful to clear the stale energy as well as bless the house. There are many ways to do this, from clearing away old objects and mess to using sound vibration, reiki symbols, burning herbs such as lavender and sage and essential oils. Crystals such as Amber can be used to cleanse and protect the environment of a home. Apophyllite's (see above) presence in a room enhances the energies as it is a powerful vibrational transmitter. Smokey Quartz and Black Tourmaline have the ability to absorb negative energy and put back pure clean energy.
