For 16 years I was an early childhood and primary school teacher specialising in the arts so I have extensive experience working with young people of all ages. I relate well and connect with children and have vast experience finding creative ways to engage and include them.

I work with you to create a ceremony that you feel comfortable with and that truly honours your family commitment.

As your celebrant, you have consultation time with me to accommodate both our commitments up to the date of the ceremony, in person, by telephone or email. I work with you to make the ceremony meaningful and heartfelt for you.

A Special Way to Honour Your Blended Family
The Family Unity Ceremony is a modified version of the Unity Sand Ceremony. This ceremony can include children and other members of your new blended family and creates a treasured Unity Vase filled with many colours. Family members can also recite special vows as part of the ceremony.

In today’s world it’s not uncommon for either partner to have children and the Family Unity Ceremony is perfect for when children are part of the picture. Children are especially drawn to using sand to symbolize the loving union of their new parents.

 

For parents committed to their children, whether separated or starting a new family with step children, adopted children or foster children.

For separated parents: this ceremony can be done with your ex-partner, if you are amicable, or by yourself, with close family and friends. If there are issues of domestic violence or other significant problems, I recommend that you work with qualified professionals to help with this.

As with all my ceremonies, I work with you to craft a ceremony that gives intention to this new phase of your life. This ceremony is to give parents or caregivers for children support in their parenting role, whether as a new parent or caregiver, or as a separated parent. It affirms the value of the children in your life, it marks the beginning of a parenting relationship with a new partner or ex-partner or new child and affirms the support of the community for you in this role.

 

Family Unity Certificates

As a memento of your treasured day you will receive a ceremonial certificate and a full copy of the ceremony in a presentation folder.
